Division for us is merely the other part of fact families in multiplication. Just like we learned in 1st grade, there are always 3 parts to a number sentence. In addition and subtraction, there were the parts we add to get a total, what we subtract from the sum to get the missing subtrahend and so on... Like this: So, now we are ready for the Multiply/Divide version: We will do a variety of things to help us understand how this works, such as arrays, groups and number in groups, sharing equally. Here's a great example: There is our introduction! But it will get a little more challenging, right after the break!
